About Thassos - Information About Thassos
The island of Thassos doesn't just offer exotic beaches and traditional mountain villages. There is so much more to do here than to just swim in the sea and try the local baklava! Here's a brief list of some other things you can and should experience when visiting Thassos.

Hiking & Mountain-climbing

Recent efforts are bringing old, disused footpaths linking the islands villages into use again. Hikers will have the pleasure of walking on roads through scenery of unique natural beauty, and stopping to rest at the various refreshment stands that will be set up.

Water Sports

The calm, clean sea around the coast of Thassos is ideal for many water sports including water skiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, diving and much more.

Fishing

All around the island you can often catch a variety of fish and sea food like gray mullet, sea bream, black fish, pandoras, lobsters, white bait, horse mackerel and octopus. Small groups of visitors may rent boats for fishing.
