@tony, don't worry, ferry's are private companies and they don't strike.
Airplanes were in strike only 4 houres yesterday (15.07)

Don't mix private companies, hotels, etc with governamental institutes. They are in strike, not private sector.

has any one had trouble getting there on thassos we travel on aug 10th and are worried if the airports and ferries will strike due to the problems can anyone let us know

we are heading for Thassos on the 25th july for 1 week , last minute thing, we have booked 2 weeks in crete to try a new island in august, as we have spent alot of time in thassos over the past few years..... had a week spare and thought why not! we just can`t resist this beautiful island and it`s beautiful people

Privelistea de la Emerald e superba, am stat anul trecut acolo. De la hotel pana la plaja faci la coborare cam 10 minute. La urcare faci probabil 15-20. Dar merita. Vacanta placuta si sa bei si pt noi un Mythos!

Unfortunately, I only speak english - however, I think you are asking how far the Emerald Hotel is from the sea - it's up a steep - so going to the beach isn't going to take you very long - 10 minutes or so - but coming back from the beach might take a little longer!! Have a great holiday.

Hi Barney, yes you can hire quad bikes - just down the road from 'the hill'!

is there places to buy hats in golden beach or will i need my turban?

We apologize for the technical difficulty. We've been having an issue with the camera-stop function for a few days and it was fixed temporarily but has recently stopped working again. We are doing our best to get it working as soon as possible so that you may once again watch your friends greet you from Thassos.

Why camera doesn´t stop every day at 12:00 & 18:00 showing my friend on Thassos?

The Emerald is at the top of a very steep hill. We have only walked it once and would not do it again unless you are super fit. We would recommend that you hire a car for the time you are there or you may find that the person with the difficulties will end up staying in the Emerald for the whole holiday.
The upside is, it is a really lovely view of the whole bay and surrounding area.

Always when booking check out on the Thomson site as this gives accurate information and comments made by other travellers.

Sorry to inform you of this situation, but it is better you know before you go.

Barney, the hill to the Emerald apts is a very steep hill. Say hello to Costas the owner from me. We have been going there for 10 years our next visit is August 22 2010 for 2 weeks. You wll just love the views out onto the Aegean sea and the well kept gardens at Emerald, the hospitality is second to none !

If you have some one with you who has a weak ankle i would suggest you hire a small car which you will find at the bottom of the hill. Potos Car Rental, Sue there is very fair with pricing dont book before hand do it when you get there. The longer you book you car the cheaper it will before you.
