Dear Florina, the distance between Skala Potamias and Skala Panagias is about 3,5 kilometers. From the center Skala Potamias (taxi station) to Skala Panagias (cafe Vigli)!!!

ROXANA,That is the question that I want to know now,I have one website, and according to this site, the water temperature today is 21 degrees.I see it every day this website, and is generally about 22.5.I really hope that by the end of June,the water temperature will be at least 25,26 degrees or even more

did it rain??? We always go in june and have had several times some rain in june.

Dot is fine she has been sat out all weekend but last two days rain it is dire hope you and Vern a chillin out you certainly know how to pick your weeks unlike us its looking good next week here so maybe you are bringing some thassos sun home with you say hello to golden beach for us

hi niki phil is right but be careful which road you will take on the way out. there are 2 ways one way is from motorway (which it will take you near airport of chrisoupoli)and the other, the longest, through agios vasilis the old motor way.
On the way out from airport follow the road straght and on the junction turn right towards nea michaniona and continue straight, from there join the motorway but dont take the exit to kavala take the next exit to keramoti/chrisoupoli airport. its a good 1h55min run with a car Ive done it the past 2 years.
To give you a tip when you go from egnatia motorway on the left will be a big white cross and on the right will be the airport you cant miss it beacuse of the big white airplane that is there, follow the road which is the end of motorway and join the road towards Kavala and after 1km approx turn left to the road to the airport at the junction on traffic lights.

Hope this help and sorry if is confusing.

Hi Sharon we are going on the 21st July from Brum can't wait staying at the Nostos. Our son and his girlfriend have just come back and yes, they loved it. They stopped at the Marina and loved it.It was very quiet but Friday and Saturday it got a lot busier.

Thankyou Terry, that sounds easy, I was worried about getting out of the airport. I think it's a straight run after that.

Phil, there is a cash machine on the ring road just past Erics bar heading for Thassos town, but being greek it's not always working, but there are three in Thassos town at the banks (easy to find).

Wendy, we fly to Thessaloniki in August and looking at the map there looks to be only one road out of the airport. Go to the crossroad, straight across to the "T" junction, turn left and follow the road for a couple of kilometres and look for highway 2 signed for Kavala,stay on this road and bypass Kavala looking for airodromiu Megas Aexandros, pass the entrance and head for Keramoti for the ferry to the wonderful island of Thassos. I hope this is helpful.

I was last year at the end of june and it was perfect. Sunny and the water was goood for swim, only in the morning the water was a little bit coler.
This year again I'll arrive on 26.06

In Skala Potamia is the special souvlaki and the Vigli is at the end of golden beach!

Vanya, I have been in Thassos many times end of June.The weather is perfect, the day lasts more and the sea is ok.Not hot but not cold.It's the perfect time for summer holidays, because it's not so crowded. Thassos is the best choise for unforgetable holidays!!!!Don't forget to drink coffee at Vigli cafe(perfect view) and eat only souvlaki at special soublaki(ask the locals to find it) !!! HAVE A NICE SUMMER TO ALL!!!!

Hi Sharon we too are going on 21st July and we are staying at the Nostos where we stayed last year .Our son and girlfriend arrived yesterday for a week and can't believe how beautiful it is, lets hope the weather stays lovely for the rest of their stay.

hi niki the trip is nice from kavala as you said and take longer but i would suggest to go from keramoti, as you will be coming from egnatia odos (egnatia motor way) which it will take you near the airport,and 10 minutes from the port keramoti, how ever the choice is yours.
to be honest when i used to work on the local ferry-boats i did preferred the keramoti way shorter and more scenic,. i would suggest to have a look some ofthe you tube videos, that will make your decision easier.

Booked the tickets!!! Today in a month time we arrive as we speak in Thessaloniki en me and my family will be happy to drive the beautiful road to the lovely Thassos!
We are thinking of taking the ferry this year from Kavala instead of Keramoti. The ferry takes longer but the carjourney from Thessaloniki is shorter.
Any advise? Is ther ferrytrip from Kavala beautiful?
For the 3rd year in a row. Can't wait to stay with our friend Roulla in pension Elia.

Hi everyone, a special announcement from the team!

We've just received instructions from Earthcam to ship the camera system to them for repair. They will fix the zoom and movement functionality so that we may once again enjoy the full and amazing webcam experience, just in time for the summer season!

Of course this means that the webcam feed will be offline for a short while as the repair work is being done... and depending on the speed at which the camera ships to Earthcam and back to us, we expect it to take somewhere between 10-15 days.

We promise to expedite the process as much as we can to make it as quick and painless as possible!

Today is a gorgeous day here on Thassos island, so do take in the view and enjoy it all you can since starting tomorrow your window looking in will be temporarily shut for repair.

(pssss... don't worry, we'll replace the window with something nice to look at in the meantime)
