 Makryammos, Thassos | This is a beautiful beach where you will enjoy the day. The beach resort charges a nominal per-person fee of 3 € to use the beach. The money is used to help maintain the beach and keep it very clean. They have a reputation of doing an excellent job. You will very rarely, if you ever do, see any kind of trash or cigarette filters in the very fine and soft sand this beach has. The water is clean and normally calm, although it does see strong waves once in a while. It is pure sand, absolutely no rocks, and it remains quite shallow for approximately 50 meters. It is perfect for children of all ages and it also has a place where one may dive into the water at a safe depth from an easy-to-reach spot along the dock, which is bordered by large pieces of Thassos-white marble. |
| The area is completely surrounded by lush green hills and mountains, covered in pine trees and other various types. In the distance you can see marble qaurries.
