Paradise Beach, Thassos | This magnificent piece of paradise next to the sea is located about 26 kilometres from Thassos Town and 43 kilometres from the port in Skala Prinos. It is an isolated beach surrounded by green hills and mountains on one side and the blue and sparkling Aegean on the other side. It is a very quiet and peaceful place to escape to when one desires to be free from the world. The beach is down a steep hill near the main road that circles Thassos. Just 2 kilometres South of Kinira, one could easilly reach this marvelous place and enjoy a day on one of the most beautiful and sandy beaches on Thassos. |
Fine sand, clear water, and a rich surrounding make up one of the most beautiful beaches on Thassos Paradise Beach was given its name because of the feeling one has when visiting here. It feels as if you enter an exotic little world even unique to Thassos. It is not very developed and it lacks many facilities, but this is a part of the beauty of this place. There is a café / snack bar by the beach so it is not completely bare. There are sunbeds and umbrellas available for a small fee for those who desire, and there is also plenty of open, soft beach for those who prefer to relax right on the sand.
| The sand stretches long and wide |
This beach is a must-visit when touring Thassos | The path to the beach from the road is quite long and rocky, but you are able to drive down and park your car next to the beach in a parking area if you have one. If you don't have a car, expect a nice, steep walk down and then back up again! This beach has become very popular over the years, so it gets pretty busy durring the high Summer season. If you want to enjoy it when it is quiet, plan your trip for May, the beginning of June or September. |
